Relatively minor update!
I did some minor game scene optimizations and updated to Unity 2019.1. The big change here is that I removed GameSparks and implemented PlayFab. Neither of these backend services does exactly what I want, how I want, for free. However, the PlayFab Authorization works in a clear way that makes a lot of sense to me, and I can be sure I'm not storing anyone's personal information - at all. While I wrote most of the code to handle a traditional account system - register, log-in, verify email, retrieve password - I realized this is just a lot of UI to manage + maintain for very little gain. As of today, there's no account system on beholdin'. if you play on one computer, you won't be able to play the same account on another. I honestly think this is a small price to pay to save myself the headache of GDPR, racist usernames, SMTP server costs, etc.
Hope everyone continues to enjoy the game! I'm fairly busy over the next couple of months, but I'm finding beholdin' tasks to have almost meditative qualities compared to work + other side projects. Hopefully I'll get around to one or two more updates + some profiling.
