Fishin' Mission
Fishin' Mission is a local multiplayer competitive fishing game! Steer your boat around the bay, using your bobber to collect as many fish as you can before the other players. To keep you on your toes, the game will add some new twists as the player collect fish.
Fishin' Mission was made in about 72 hours for TOJAM 2024, a yearly game jam held in Toronto. This year we entered as GHOST DUCKS, consisting of Landen Dwyer (https://lrd123.itch.io/) and Kyle Dwyer (https://kpdwyer.itch.io/), sharing code, design and additional art duties. We also enlisted the help of 2 talented floaters at the jam: Wilfred Moeschter (https://www.wilfredmoeschter.com/), who composed the game's music, and Kate Tavasoli (https://www.katetavasoli.com/), who contributed SFX and ambience.
Prior to the jam we decided to use Kenney's (https://kenney.nl/) boat assets to reduce our workload, and we built out much of the multiplayer lobby system (supporting 1-4 players, associating devices to players) ahead of time so we could focus on gameplay.
Following the jam, we added keyboard controls & a web build. if you're using keyboards, each player is assigned four keys on the keyboard - choose the ones most comfortable for you. If the web version isn't responding to keyboard input, click anywhere on the game once.
